Smiths Beach

Smiths Beach, Yallingup, Western Australia, Australia

The car park at the southern end of this 1.5 km beach gives access to the more protected area of beach. This area is suitable for swimming, although care must be taken here due to the possibility of rips. As you walk north the beach becomes rocky with reef sections and is often less suitable for swimming. Facilities at Smiths are excellent with toilets, showers, a resort, restaurant and cafe.

For surfers, a reef break about 400 m north of the carpark is suitable for beginners on small days and intermediate to advanced on swells between 1.5 and 2.5 m. Low tides can be dangerous with the reef becoming very shallow. Closer to the car park children and beginners may sometimes find beach-break waves to surf. Dog friendly.
