Boranup Forest Viewing Platform

Boranup, Western Australia, Australia

A small viewing platform overlooking a valley of unique Karri trees. There is a small car park where a short, 200 meter path takes you up to the platform. It’s a sight not to be missed, particularly on a sunny day. Karri trees are only found in the south west of Western Australia.

The Karri trees were a key factor in supporting settlement of the area when logging was the main industry. Known for their huge size, straight trunks and hard wood, Karri wood was shipped overseas for many years, but today most of the Karri forest is protected and lies within National Parks.

Karris can grow up to 80 meters in height and are the 3rd tallest in the world.
